Welcome!
Hey, it’s Ax.
Thanks for subscribing to Everything is Designed.
Here’s what you need to know:
🔸 This is a personal newsletter—not a company blog or educational publication. Expect a little chaos along the way. Isn’t that the best part of any journey?
🔸 It’s not about graphic design, pixels, or color palettes—though those might make an appearance.
🔸 It’s about design as the intelligence behind creation.
🔸 I’ll be exploring the design of things I care about: tech, AI, lifestyle, home design, fashion, cooking, and sports.
🔸 Because everything—seriously, everything—is designed.
If you’re new here and don’t know me:
I’m a war refugee turned PhD in Human-Computer Interaction. I’ve been designing since I was six—starting with clothing sketches on our kitchen table. Since then, I’ve designed at Microsoft, Apple, Amazon, a few startups, and my own company.
My goal with this newsletter is to share design rules for non-designers—because we all make things, and design rules help us make better ones.
You’ll get one post a week (sometimes more, sometimes less—I’m new at this). Each one starts with a problem and ends with a principle you can steal.
Do me a favor—hit reply and tell me your name (and anything else you want to share). I’d love to know who’s reading.
See you in your inbox,
—Ax
